Today is one of those crisp, cool, winter-almost-spring days with bright sunshine that almost blinds you. While it may not be as warm as I’d like, it’s still quite beautiful. Days like today almost beg for fresh, clean interiors that allow daylight to reflect and shine. Days like today show how beautiful white-washed spaces can be. Days like today give me hope for my white-walled apartment and the blog over at Dreamy Whites serves as the perfect inspiration.

My friend and I are playing with the idea of providing design services through the mail, similar to what some designers have coined Design in a Box, or Instant Design. I’d like to hear your thoughts on a service like this. Do you think it’s worth it? Would you invest in a design package provided by Certified Interior Designers for a fee?
Here’s how it would work:
Step 1: Fill out an information sheet to provide details about you and your space. For example:
Step 2: Measure your space.
Step 3: Take photos of your existing space.
Step 4: Inspire us!
Step 5: We create your space and will mail you a package including everything your need for your new space including:
Step 6: Enjoy your new space, designed by a professional Interior Designer!
Please let me know how you feel about this service. Your feedback is much appreciated! Email me at SpaceSays@gmail.com
My Best Friend is coming to town!! It’s about time too; it only took her 9 months to make it out here (I’m kidding of course…well maybe). Anyway, I’ve been buzzing around on cloud nine for the past week and preparing for her arrival. I think I’ve really been irritating my boyfriend in the process, but hey, she’s my bestie. So I’ve done this post in her honor, because she really does mean the world to me, and I miss her dearly. I’ve compiled a few things that remind me of her, and make me smile. Most of the following are obvious best friend items; however, the little knit snowy owl is just for us. She’s my special friend, always there for me in the clutch (just like Hedwig).
Love ya Ames.

As I was typing I happened to look down at the retched state of my finger nail polish, it’s awful (I’m wondering if I can just walk around today with my nails curled under). How did I let it get this way? Well, I have this problem with nail polish. I become obsessed with a color, use it non-stop for weeks, and then I’m over it. So right now the color I am using (which I do still like, but I’ll admit the love affair is fading), is a warm steel gray, but I feel like I need something new. As a serial-nail-polish-buyer, I came across these polishes from Scotch (no, not Mr. Walker) and the bonus is that they are non-toxic and eco-friendly. Let’s be honest, if I’m painting something on my body, it’s best if it’s free of toxins, right? I’m really loving the Heather Blush or maybe the Kiltlifter (that sounds fun!).

Thanks to Design Crush for the heads up on these great polishes!
The staff here at SpaceSays have been getting pretty restless and upset that they have yet to be introduced. Since they have threatened to strike without proper recognition, I’ve decided to give in.
Meet the brains (Titus) and the brawn (Max) of SpaceSays:

I don’t know about you, but in our house, we drink a lot of wine. After a while, I realized how many wine bottles I was throwing out and I knew I had to do something about it. Since I’m not giving up the wine (let’s be real here people) I starting wondering how I could revamp my old wine bottles into something useful.
My first attempt at “redecorating” the bottles involved wrapping bands of paper raffia around the neck and bottoms of the bottles. Once I was able to scrape the labels off (I soaked them for about an hour in soapy water), I cleaned the bottles well to remove any traces of glue or paper. From there, it was rather simple. I tacked the raffia in place with a spot of hot glue, and wrapped the bottle tightly and again secured with a little hot glue. So simple!
